Inc. received $3,957,095 from arrestees 'forced' (MADD'S word, not
ours) to sit in on their VIP panels in 2005 And in California, police can enter your house without
a warrant if they suspect a drunk driver is inside.
Original NHTSA statement: "Despite the tireless efforts of thousands of advocates, impaired
drivers continue to kill someone every 30 minutes, nearly 50 people a day, and almost
18,000 citizens a year." We said, "Prove it!" Instead, the NHTSA has revised
its WebPages miraculously ''saving'' 5,000 lives and eliminating their lie. Unfortunately, their revision is another
lie as they continue to add drivers to their 'drunk' category without substantiation.

continues to be a major problem in this country. Nationwide, one person every 40 minutes,
approximately 35 people a day, or nearly 13,000 people each year die in traffic crashes

MADD is now MADD, Inc. The
new corporation was lucky enough to get $12,700,000 in government (taxpayer) money in
2004, without lobbying, since that would be an illegal activity for a non-profit
organization. Where are you? A scene from East Berlin in 1970? Communism
is washed up, but police checkpoints have migrated to a town near you. Welcome to the
Brave New World.

Inc.
We get many complaints that we're just a bunch of disgruntled drunk drivers
and/or alcoholics that are angry with MADD, Inc for trying to spoil our
fun. Well those readers will be shocked to read that we agree 100% with using
ignition interlocks to get serious drunk drivers off the highways.
Interlocks are a good idea for those drivers with a .15 or over BAC reading--the
degree of impairment most often associated with fatalities. There are some bugs
that must be worked out with the interlocks, but let's think positive here.
Of course MADD, Inc isn't pushing for interlocks for only the .15 crowd. They want them
for all DUI offenders, even low BAC's and first timers. They actually want them in
all cars, so you will have to prove you have had little or no
alcohol before the car will start. Presumption of innocence has never
been MADD Inc's strong suit.
They are simultaneously, albeit quietly pushing to lower the BAC level further to .05 with
an ultimate goal of ZERO TOLERANCE. If they
are successful, drinking any alcohol and driving will be drunk driving. The
result in our highly mobile society will be Prohibition "light", with
much of the same intrigue that plagued our country in the 1920's.
These newly defined "drunk" criminals will certainly keep the courts and
interlock installers busy while the economy suffers from lost jobs, prison
overcrowding and loss of tax revenue on booze that can pretty much only be imbibed legally
at home.
MADD Inc's genius? They, with their $50 million yearly budget, plan to accomplish this
without ever uttering the "P" word, except to occasionally deny that that is
really their ultimate goal.

Gov't gives MADD, Inc the tools to mislead the public. 16,694 alcohol-related deaths! That's the
government's number for 2004. They imply that it is exact--sure looks like it is--but
quietly admit it is just an estimate and they never freely define their vague term
"alcohol-related."
They also publish another estimated number: 12,874
as the number of deaths involving a drunk driver and then admit that there is nothing
in either of these numbers to indicate that alcohol was the cause of
these deaths.
They admit none of their numbers are based solely on a computation
of actual deaths and that their estimates are based on data that is, on average, 60%
incomplete.
They admit to age and gender profiling in deciding if alcohol was maybe
involved in a traffic death.
They admit prejudice toward people who own pick-up trucks and those who drive
late at night in making their ASSumptions.
They admit that no other civilized country uses their methods of imputation,
profiling and guessing to come up with drunk driving statistics.
Finally, they admit that their staggering numbers may be misused and
misinterpreted by special interest groups.

donations are accepted by getMADD from individuals, the government or any special
interest groups

Nationally, 12.8% (Not MADD's 42%!!) of all drivers involved
in fatal accidents during 2001 are known to have been intoxicated according to the BAC
laws of their state. This number is based on a systematic examination of the official
government records of each and every accident involving a fatality during that year in the
US. It is based on factual evidence rather than on estimates or guesses.

2004: The NHTSA assumes we have all succumbed to their anti-alcohol propaganda. This
statement appears on their website: "Whereas: Each year
drunk and drugged driving leads to one death every 33 minutes, one injury every two
minutes and 1.5 million arrests nationally..." No longer
is the target group vaguely called "impaired" drivers. Now they are all drunk
(or drugged). This bold-faced lie, parrots the misstatements of MADD and shows the true
agenda of a supposedly neutral government agency.

In Fairfax, VA: More than
170,000 vehicles have gone through DWI checkpoints over the past two years, netting a
total of 247 arrests for DWI and 169,753 people, (99.85%) stopped for no reason. Taxpayer
cost $1,000,000+
Random Fact:
210,646 people were stopped at sobriety checkpoints in 2003 in Pennsylvania. Only 532
or 1/4 of 1% were found to be impaired. ---NHTSA website, Dec, 2003. (The other
210,000 detainees were no doubt impressed with the efficient use of taxpayer money and
manpower.).
Just a thought: Do
you think the people who have lost loved ones to drunk drivers realize that they are
merely pawns in promoting a Prohibitionist agenda? MADD is no longer fighting for stiffer
penalties for drunk drivers who kill. They have already fought and won that battle.
Instead, the highly publicized tragedies are being exploited by MADD to procure money and
condemn alcohol consumption.
